As the meeting went on for three long hours, Chief Minister KCR addressed the media at Pragathi Bhavan and specified that public gatherings are to be avoided as a preventive measure.
As a part of this, CM KCR also said that the marriage halls will also be closed. Speaking on the issue, he said - " As a preventive measure, all marriage halls will be closed from March 16-31. As far as the weddings that are already finalised are concerned, we would suggest them to limit the guests to 200 only. 100 from the bride's end and 100 from the groom's end. Lesser the people, better the occasion goes."
He also said that this was only for weddings that will take place until March 31. " All the marriage halls will be closed for booking after March 31. The police will have a close eye and will keep a track on them. If the marriage halls go ahead and accept bookings, strict action will be taken against them. "
Addressing other issues, he also said that all public gatherings such as seminars, workshops, events, sporting events (indoor & outdoor), summer camps, theatres will be shut until March 31 as a preventive measure.
