By Priyanka Kanoj Published on 28 Nov 2019 4:29 AM GMTHyderabad: Ram Gopal Varma has hit the headlines once again. This time due to his upcoming movie Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu.
The film has already drawn much negativity for the use of caste names in the title. Plus, the trailers and other promotional videos appear to be an attempt to portray Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandra Babu Naidu, KA Paul, and Pawan Kalyan.
While it is a known fact that evangelist KA Paul came up with a petition against Ram Gopal Varma for trying to use his image in the movie, now the makers have been forced to change the title. A case also has been filed against Ram Gopal Varma.
A certain Indrasena Chowdary has moved court seeking direction to the Censor Board to deny certification for Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu. Chowdary's petition says that the movie is being made against the Principles for Guidance in Certifying Films under Clause 5-B of the Cinematograph Act and it also violates Article 19 of the Indian Constitution.
The petitioner has pleaded to the court to deny any kind of permission in favour of Ram Gopal Varma to release his movie in theatres, on YouTube or other social media platforms.
Amid the controversy, it has been reported that the title of Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu is being tweaked. In a recent conversation with a media channel, Ram Gopal Varma said that the movie is facing hurdles at the Censor Board because of the title.
Now, Ram Gopal Varma will attempt to release the film with the title Amma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Biddalu. Ram Gopal Varma said what he wanted to convey through the title has already been conveyed to the audience.
The interviewer went further and quizzed Ram Gopal Varma if the new title would suit the plot of his story. The filmmaker said he was quite confident about that.
