Rs 14.51 lakh worth tickets seized by South Central Railway authorities during special drives

South Central Railways (SCR) authorities conducted special drives against e-ticket touts to curb the menace of black-market reservation tickets and to facilitate a hassle-free journey to passengers during Diwali.
The raids were conducted under the personal monitoring of General Manager IG-Principal Chief Security Commissioner of SCR Eswara Rao. Simultaneous raids were conducted at various locations such as Warangal, Yadgir, Raichur, Bapatla, Twin Cities, and other places in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
206 live tickets and 840 post-journey tickets, worth Rs 1,450,880 booked by touts on a commission basis, were seized during these raids. Twenty-five touts responsible in 24 cases were arrested and booked under section 143 of the Railway Act.

Concerned authorities have sent all user IDs used for booking tickets to IRCTC for deactivation and RPF administration of SCR will take stringent action against further touting activities. SCR authorities have alerted passengers not to purchase railway reservation tickets from unauthorised travel agents.
