RTI reveals 29,091 posts filled in 6 years against 1.50 L in Telangana

Hyderabad: An RTI response has revealed that 29,091 posts were filled in the last 6 years. This data is official and it is released by none other than Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in response to an RTI filed by an RTI activist Jalagam Sudhir.

The TSPSC replied that the commission had filled a total of 29,091 posts from July 2015 to July 2020.

It informed that another 7,552 posts are in various stages of recruitment. The state government (finance department) has approved the filling of 39,952 posts during this period. However, officials could notify only 36,643 posts.

The TSPSC has issued 105 notifications to fill these posts for which 49,07,616 candidates have submitted applications.

Of this, TSPSC could complete the recruitment of 29,091 posts. Another 5,916 posts are stuck up in court cases/ lying pending due to lack of clarity marks weight-age, another 1,636 posts are in merit list issuance/ certificate verification stage.This apart, 4,207 para medical posts, 1,419 gurukul/ PET/ TRS posts are stuck up in court cases.

Meanwhile, Political atmosphere in Telangana has charged up as the state is bracing up for a series of elections in the next five months. The first test for TRS led government would be next month when polls for Upper House would be held for Nizamabad seat.

The ruling TRS and Opposition parties are engaged in a pitched battle. While the Opposition parties are targeting TRS for failing to provide jobs to unemployed youth as promised during the Telangana statehood agitation.

The TRS on the other hand said they provided jobs as promised in government and the private sector.IT minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao said the state government could provide 1.50 lakh jobs in the government sector and 15 lakh jobs in the private sector. He asked party leaders and cadres to strongly rebut the Opposition’s charges.

Known to all Telangana statehood movement was all about jobs, funds, and water. TRS chief KCR too promised jobs for youth if Telangana state is formed during the statehood agitation. It's more than six years since Telangana State was formed and KCR became CM.
