Samantha earns top spot as the most desirable woman 2019

Hyderabad: After a successful 2019 with films like ‘Majili’ and ‘Oh! Baby’, it is only fair to say that Samantha Akkineni is the reigning queen of Tollywood. Now, the actor has topped the list of ‘Hyderabad Times Most Desirable Woman for the year 2019’, making the year even more special. Samantha had ranked third in the previous edition of the most desirable woman and now much to the delight of her fans, she has grabbed the top spot.

During a recent media interaction, when asked when she feels desirable, the actor was quoted saying, “When I go on a date night with my husband, I feel pretty sexy and desirable.” Although pleased with winning the title, Samantha was also pleasantly surprised. In a recent interview with a publication, she said, “A married woman winning this title is a big step forward and symbolises a huge change in attitude. It is good to know that the marital status of a woman no longer defines her credibility.”

Recently, the star heroine successfully completed 10 years in the film industry. For female actors in the industry, marriage is often considered a hindrance to career prospects. However, the actor has proved everyone wrong. Her choice of films and her path-breaking performances post- marriage in films like ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘U Turn’, and ‘Super Deluxe’ have won her accolades and appreciation from everyone.

The actor was last seen in ‘Jaanu’. Although the film failed at the box office, her performance was highly appreciated. Currently, Samantha is awaiting the release of her digital debut with ‘The Family Man 2’ which stars Manoj Bajpayee in the lead. Samantha has also been roped in for director Vignesh Shivan’s ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal’ where she will share screen space with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. According to recent reports, she has also given her nod to ‘Game Over’ director Ashok Shravanan’s next film. With a slew of exciting projects in the pipeline, it looks like the actor is likely to consolidate her top position in the industry for some more time.
