Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) opened the gates of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs after they reached Full Tank Level (FTL).

On October 7, Osman Sagar reached its full capacity of 1790 mm and Himayat Sagar reached its full capacity of 1763.500 mm. The reservoirs reached their full tank level following the heavy rains on 5 October 5 and 6.

According to IMD Hyderabad's morning forecast for Saturday, a cloudy sky is expected on 8 October. "Light rain is likely to occur in parts of the city. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius," IMD's forecast said.

Telangana's independent weather observer T Balaji tweeted about the possibility of scattered thunderstorms in the state on Saturday.

"As the old low-pressure area moved into north India, fresh upper air circulation (UAC) from the nearby state of Tamil Nadu. Wind convergence forms today in South, and Central Telangana, and this will cause thunderstorms during the afternoon and night. Hyderabad has high chances of scattered storms during evening and night," tweeted Balaji.

According to IMD Hyderabad's weather forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in a few districts of Telangana from 8 October to 13 October. Heavy rains are expected on 11 October in isolated places across the state.
