LV Prasad Eye Institute's Dr Prashant Garg elected member of AOI
Dr. Prashant Garg, executive-chair of LV Prasad Eye Institute, was elected a member of the Academia Ophthalmological Internationalis (AOI).

AOI is a university-based multinational organisation dedicated to education, research, and culturally appropriate medical services to protect and restore global eyesight. Its 100 active members are the world's most esteemed ophthalmologists, each occupying a chair. Dr. Garg is the fifth Indian recipient.
Following this news, Dr. Prashant Garg said, "I feel both privileged and excited to be elected to Academia Ophthalmological Internationalis and look forward to actively contributing to the strategic plan that AOI is working on to preserve and restore vision and prevent avoidable blindness globally."
Dr. Garg's tenure as a member of Academia Ophthalmological Internationalis will formally commence next year during AOI's next general assembly meeting.
When a Chair falls vacant, AOI members are formally nominated and elected by the membership.
An ophthalmologist who has worked in the field of ophthalmology for at least 15 years and has written at least 100 scientific papers, reports, or books is eligible to be nominated for membership.
Their active and Emeritus membership now represents 33 countries worldwide.
