Seven medical devices manufacturing companies inaugurated at Sultanpur Medical Devices Park

KTR said out of land allocated to 50 companies at the park, seven companies have commenced operations and these companies have proposed a total investment of Rs 265 crores.

Seven medical devices manufacturing companies inaugurated at Sultanpur Medical Devices Park

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao inaugurated seven companies in Medical Devices Park at Sultanpur on Wednesday.

The companies include Promea Therapeutics, Huwel Life Sciences, Akriti Oculoplasty, Arka Engineers, SVP Techno Engineers, Elvikon, and Rees Medilife.

KTR said out of land allocated to 50 companies at the park, seven companies have commenced operations and these companies have proposed a total investment of Rs 265 crores. The park is spread over 250 acres


"It is an important day that marks a milestone for the Medical Devices Park in Telangana. I am extremely delighted to inaugurate and witness the grand opening of seven companies. These companies would generate employment for 1300 people. Promea Therapeutics is slated to be one of the biggest IV Fluid and bags manufacturing facilities in the country with a production capacity of 5 million bottles and bags a month," he said.

Promea is also one of the largest fully integrated in-vitro diagnostics manufacturing facilities with capabilities to manufacture novel molecular kits such as a Triplex RTPCR for HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C (all in on test) and routine parameters for ELISA, Rapid tests, Biochemistry & Hematology used in every lab (all together more than 100 different diagnostic products), the Minister informed. In the near future Promea will be launching a 25,000-instrument division to develop a point of care devices and analyzers used in diagnostic labs, he said.


Huwel Lifesciences is engaged in the manufacturing of molecular diagnostic and Lateral flow/Rapid Antigen /Antibody kits with the capacity to produce 3 million tests a month. KTR said the company will also manufacture room temperature stable reagents, which enable to transport and store RTPCR kits at room temperature.

"It is a matter of significance that the company manufactures all the components in-house which include enzymes, primers, and probes which are extremely helpful in effective implementation of RT PCR tests in tier 2 and 3 towns," he said.


Arka will be manufacturing Dental Implants, Maxillofacial Implants, Custom-designed Prosthesis, Cranial 3D- Plating System, and R&D in Bone Grafts while SVP Engineers will be manufacturing linear motion and automation products/solutions like C=continuous Passive Motion Equipment, Medical Bathing System, and Robotic Gait Training System, the Minister said.

Elvikon will be manufacturing 3D printed implants and health parameter motoring technologies/sensors, he said while Akriti will be manufacturing a range of high-end ocular implants and a range of ophthalmic devices, Rees Medilife will produce various sterilized wound dressing, surgical kits, among others.
