Scolded by husband for eating chalk, woman ends life

Hyderabad: A woman ended her life here at Jeedimetla on 12 October after her husband allegedly scolded her for eating chalk. For years, Sanju Yadav had been in the habit of eating chalk which had reportedly turned into an addiction recently.
Sanju and her husband, both residents of Bihar, lived at Ayodhya Nagar in Jeedimetla. While the husband worked for a private firm in the Jeedimetla industrial area, Sanju stayed home.
Sanju's husband had tried to dissuade her from eating chalk many times but she could not stop. The couple had frequent arguments over this issue.
On Monday, too, the couple had a quarrel over Sanju’s chalk-eating habit. After her husband left for work, Sanju ended her life. Alerted by passersby, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem. A case has been registered at the Jeedimetla police station and further investigation is underway.
