Two minor girls sexually assaulted, Vizag slips into shock

Visakhapatnam: Vizag city has slipped into a shock after two minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted by two youth in a shed under Duvvada police station limits.

Though the incident took place on Saturday night, it came to light on Monday morning when the victims and their parents lodged a complaint against the accused.

Police said a 24-year old youth befriended a 14-year-old girl and his 26-year-old buddy lured the girl’s 15-year-old friend.

On Saturday, the two youngsters gave the girls a bike ride. Later they took them to a shed where the duo allegedly sexually assaulted them.

Based on the complaint from the victims, a case was registered in the Duvvada police station. Later, the case was transferred to Disha police station for further investigation.

Police shifted the victims to KG Hospital for medical tests. A manhunt has been launched to nab the duo.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, a pastor was arrested for attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl at Gajuwaka in Vizag city.

Local activists and women groups have demanded stringent action against those involved in the crime against women and children.
