Scolded for playing PUBG, 26-year-old man ends life in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: A 26-year-old man died by suicide in Vizag's Arilova area after his mother scolded him for spending hours playing PUBG on his mobile phone. Mohammed Hameed ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan on Saturday night.

Hameed worked in a shop that sold spare parts of mobile phones. However, for the past two months, he had been idle at home and spent long hours playing PUBG. Apparently disappointed with his son, Mohammed Begum, Hameed's mother, scolded him on Saturday evening. She advised him to find work and spend less time on the phone playing PUBG. Distressed by the scolding, Hameed ended his life while his mother was busy in the kitchen The police said a case has been registered under Section 174 of the IPC.

A few months ago, a 14-year-old boy, B. Lohit, from Vizag had died by suicide after his mother took away his mobile phone and prevented him from playing PUBG. The class X student had consumed insecticide. He was rushed to a private hospital and later shifted to another hospital before finally being admitted to KGH where he breathed his last.
