Searches against BJPs Dubbaka candidate M Raghunandan Rao

Telangana: Days before the Dubbaka elections, searches were carried out against BJP leader and candidate in fray, M Raghunandan Rao at Siddipet. The searches have so far led the investigators to Rs 18.67 lakh cash.

It is note Dubbaka by-elections is scheduled to be held on the 3rd of November and seven days later the results will be announced.

Preliminary reports say, three teams accompanied by the regional Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) and police are carrying searches at two locations in Siddipet district of Telanagana. The BJP leader’s relatives including his in-laws residence is being searched.

Meanwhile, BJP workers alleged foul play during the raids.

This comes days after cash was seized from M Raghunandan Rao’s close aide. Acting on specific intelligence, On 5 October night, Cyberabad cops intercepted a vehicle and Shamirpet and seized cash to the tune of Rs 40 lakhs. Four persons were caught transporting the cash.

According to cops, Creta vehicle bearing number Br. No. TS 15 ES 3666 and one Swift Car (AP 36 AT 5925) were found at the toll gate from Medchal. On spotting cops checking other vehicles, the Creta car turned back and headed towards Medchal. Cops chased the car on the Outer Ring Road. "The driver of the Creta car stopped his vehicle and a man with a bag was found getting off, he ran towards ORR and jumped from the railing. The police chased him by foot. He was caught with a bag carrying Rs 40 Lakhs" Cops said.
