Second case of Corona virus confirmed in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: One more person has been confirmed with Coronavirus infection in Kerala. This is the second positive case of Novel Coronavirus confirmed in the state. The patient has a travel history from China. She returned to India on January 26. She is a student at Wuhan university.

The patient has been kept in isolation at Alapuzha Medical College. She is reportedly stable and is being closely monitored. However, the state has not yet received any test results from the Virology Lab in Pune. Around 1793 people are under observation for Coronavirus in Kerala.



Health Minister K. K Shailaja assured that proper inspection and monitoring is done in the state and the situation is satisfactory.

“Continuous monitoring is what we want against Corona virus. Its difficult to control once the virus spread. We need to take precautions like we did for Nipah. Citizens need to be fully complaint with the directions of Health Department,” the minister said.
