Senior doctor at Kondapur Government Hospital tests COVID-19 positive

The development was confirmed by medical and health authorities on Saturday. This is the first positive case reported among the hospital staff, according to sources.
Kondapur Area hospital caters to the people residing at Madhapur, Gachibowli and surrounding areas of Serilingampalli in the city. The hospital is known for performing record number of deliveries and is one among the top hospitals in Telangana.
According to sources, the contact could not be traced, but is suspected to be due to the doctor's hectic schedule and coming in contact with other patients visiting the hospital.
Till now around 180 persons from doctors and other supporting wings have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Telangana. Most of these affected persons were working at various hospitals in Hyderabad. Senior doctors from Gandhi and NIMS hospitals, Post Graduate doctors from Osmania, NIMS, Gandhi, Government hospital at Koti, professors working at Chest and TB hospital, Erragadda are among those tested positive.
Despite a steady rise in COVID cases among the health and medical department, the government has not been taking any additional measures for testing them, alleged doctors.
