Hyderabad: Post Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is busy with his next film, Jersey, which revolves around the life of a cricketer, who tries to make a comeback in his 30s.
Kabir Singh received a mixed response from the audience for its misogynistic approach in the storyline but Shahid did earn accolades for his performance.
A lot of people hailed that he outdid Vijay Deverakonda, who acted in the original Telugu version ‘Arjun Reddy’. Well, Shahid is clearly busy working on another remake. There are tremendous expectations from his fans that he would deliver yet another hit.
The movie is a remake of Telugu film, Jersey that starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath. Jersey went on to become a big hit in Telugu.
The Hindi version has Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. She was last seen in Super 30 alongside Hrithik Roshan.
The duo was shooting in Chandigarh but looks like there is a small change in their schedule.
Following the outbreak of coronavirus, several shoots have been cancelled, including Shahid’s Jersey. Shahid took to Twitter to announce the indefinite stalling of the shoot.
“In a time like this, it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe.” Well, we hope the film gets back on track soon!”
It is heard that Shahid is being trained by Dinesh Lad, who is Rohit Sharma’s coach. In fact, eight trained athletes and an expert from UK are helping him get into the skin of the character.
The movie is being presented by Geeta Arts, bankrolled by Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Bhaumik Gondaliya and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.
It is tentatively set to release on August 28.
