Hyderabad: Emotions ran high when Woman Sub Inspector (WSI) Chaitanyapuri G.Sandhya resumed her duties after recovering from COVID.

Sandhya broke down while narrating her ordeal during a welcome programme held at CP Office, Neredmet. She said that she did not inform her parents when she was tested positive for COVID.

It was after she tested negative that she told her parents about the illness. However, she stated that she has emerged stronger after surviving the scare of her life.

It was this strong will that WSI Sandhya decided to donate plasma. In fact, she became the first woman police officer to donate plasma in Telangana.

Sources said when VLN Varma texted CP Rachakonda Mahesh Bhagwat about plasma requirement to Devi Varma, he forwarded the request to COVID Control Room at Rachakonda. The control room connected Sandhya to the patient at Sunshine Hospital, Secunderabad.

Varma expressed deep gratitude to Sandhya for donating the plasma and saving a precious life. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, profusely thanked WSI G.Sandhya for donating plasma.
