One of them was the son of a Siddipet police constable, who achieved an All India Rank of 516. Dudam Vinaykanth, who is currently working as an Assistant Executive Officer at Rajya Sabha, said that he was astounded to hear the results.
Speaking to Newsmeter Vinaykanth said, "I am speechless, I have been waiting for this moment seven years, and it was worth it. This almost-a-decade-long wait defines why I have no words upon this achievement."
Head Constable at the station and Vinaykanth's uncle, Venugopal, added, "He was always a very intelligent chap. As the district and intermediate topper, he was appreciated by Minister Harish Rao years ago. He is a dedicated, hardworking and focused child. I had taken him to Delhi in 2013 for coaching, upon my will, as I knew his capability." He further added that he was sure his nephew would qualify the exam one day.
"Even after I was unable to qualify six times, my family never questioned me once, by asking if I am wasting time or anything. My family always supported me and their faith kept me going," Vinaykanth said.
He added that the cost of living in Delhi while pursuing his coaching was exorbitant. "My younger brother moved with me for financial support; in fact, he sacrificed his dreams," he added.
Vinayakanth further commented, "My younger brother insisted that patience and perseverance can drive me to my goal. Every success story has many heroes in the background, working to make one hero. We tend to not talk about them and dismiss their efforts. But my father, brother, and uncle will always be my heroes.
Jyothi Srija, Vinaykanth's sister, said she was delighted to receive this Rakhi gift from him.
