Hyderabad: Actress Sobhita Dhulipala has bagged an important role in the upcoming bi-lingual ‘Major’. The film is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and the events that unfolded during 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.

With this film, the actress reunites with director Sashi Kiran Tikka and actor Adivi Sesh after their acclaimed 2018 spy-thriller ‘Goodachari’.

Confirming the news, the actress tweeted, “Honoured and humbled to be telling a story about the fragility of courage in this incredible Hindi-Telugu bilingual film ‘Major’. It charts the inspiring story of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and the heroes of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks on screen.” #MajorTheFilm

Actor Adivi Sesh was equally excited having Sobhita on-board. The actor took to Twitter with “It’s so amazing to reunite with @sobhitaD for #Major after our previous #Goodachari. This time, she is going to have her own individual story track in the film. She is going to be dynamite in a role with emotional depth. #Major is a story for all of India. Looking fwd to it.”

According to sources, Sobhita has already joined the shoot, which is currently underway in Himachal Pradesh.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is bankrolling this project under GMB Productions along with Sony Pictures Films and A+S Movies. It is expected to hit the screens during summer.

Meanwhile, Sobhita recently wrapped up her first full-fledged Malayalam film ‘Kurup’. The actress recently stated that working in the film was an eccentric and endearing experience. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan and is expected to release in May.

The actress will also play a crucial role in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-lingual historical film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. She will also be reprising her role in Amazon Prime’s ‘Made In Heaven’ second season. Her performance as a wedding planner in the first season was well appreciated by the audience and critics.
