Son hacks father to death for mistreating daughter-in-law in Kamareddy

Hyderabad: A son hacked his father to death for mistreating his daughter in law in Kamareddy district of Telangana late on Thursday.

Identified as Tatipally Melayya, he received multiple injuries and died on the spot. Later his son Prashanth surrendered before the police.

According to police, the family has been residing at Tippapur village of Bikkanoor Mandal in Kamareddy district. Sources said Melayya would often abuse his daughter in law, blaming her for disturbances in the family.

On Thursday, an argument broke out in the family and Melayya abused his daughter in law in front of her husband Prashanth.

Unable to control his anger, Prashanth hit his father with an axe. As his father’s body lay in a pool of blood, he went straight to the police station and surrendered.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem. A case has been registered against Prashanth at Bikkanoor police station.
