Son hacks his father to death after drunken brawl in Nagarkurnool district

Hyderabad: A son hacked his father to death after a drunken brawl in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana on Wednesday.

Sources said Kavali Srinivasulu allegedly attacked his father Kavali Kurumaiah with an axe after an altercation broke out between the two.

The incident is suspected to have happened during the midnight. However, it came to light on Wednesday morning when neighbors found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

According to the police, the incident happened in Polepally village of Bijinepally Mandal. On Tuesday, the father and son returned home in a heavily drunken condition. Before going to bed, they entered into an argument over a petty issue, which later turned violent.

Srinivasulu attacked his father with an axe. Kurumaiah received multiple injuries and died on the spot.

This is the second murder related to liquor in Nagarkurnool district. Two days ago, a woman slit the throat of her heavily drunk husband at Bijinepally. After killing him, the woman placed the knife in his hand in an attempt to project it as a suicide. Later she confessed to the crime during interrogation.
