She slammed the makers and the media channel for not caring for the moral code by making Anu Mallik a judge on the show.
Writing she questioned everyone asking, āDoes a case needs to be as gruesome as Nirbhayaās for anyone to react? It takes only a Nirbhaya level tragedy for #India to wake up? A few days after these, I was asked to leave my judge seat. My co-judge told me, the publicity I provided to Anu Mallik took up the trps of our ārivalā show. (?!) A year later, a sexual predator is back on the same seat (sic).ā
Sona slammed musician Vishal, who did not take a stand against Anu Mallik. She also took a dig at Sachin Tendulkar for promoting Indian Idol that happens to have a judge who is a sexual abuser. She mentioned that several other female singers had raised their voices against Anu Mallik earlier, but they went unheard. She even said that singer Neha Bhasin was harassed by Anu Mallik 15 years ago when she was 21-years-old.

Singer Neha Bhasin quoted Sona Mohapatraās tweet calling Anu Mallik a āsexual predatorā. She recalled the incident that took place when she was new to the industry. In a series of tweets, Neha wrote, āWe do live in a very sexist world. Anu Malik is a predator, I too have run away from his strange moves when I was 21. I didnāt let myself get into a sticky situation beyond him lying on a sofa in front of me talking about my eyes in a studio. I fled lying, my mumās waiting below. He even massaged and called me after that to which I stopped responding,ā the singer wrote quoting Sona Mohapatraās post on Twitter.
Earlier during the #MeToo movement, Anu Mallik was accused of sexual harassment, to which his advocate had responded that the allegations are false and baseless fluence.
