South Central Railway's Ongole sub-division bags 'Water Heroes' award

Vijaywada: South Central Railway's Ongole sub-division office, Vijayawada division, bagged the ministry of Jal Shakti's 'Water Heroes Award'. The team, led by assistant divisional engineer Pratham Agarwal, has been declared April's winner.
The ministry of water resources, river development, and Ganga rejuvenation and the ministry of Jal Shakti had organised a contest for the period September 2019 and 30 June 2020 to promote the value of water and support efforts on water conservation and sustainable development of water resources.
The SCR's Ongole sub-divisional office participated in the contest and highlighted its work on water conservation and management and resource development like construction of rainwater harvesting pits, rejuvenation of old water bodies, and regular water audits. The office had made a short film to highlight these works.
“The commendable work being done to conserve water for now and the future shows the spirit of the Railways,” said Ganjam Mallay, the general manager of South Central Railway.
