South stars mourn the loss of  Bollywood heart throb ‘Bobby’

Hyderabad: Indian cinema lost another gem in less than 24 hours to cancer. While the nation was still mourning the untimely demise of versatile actor Irrfan Khan, the news of veteran actor and heartthrob Rishi Kapoor passing away comes as another blow.

Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on Thursday at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. He was 67- years-old. Rishi Kapoor is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor.

Rishi Kapoor was popular across the nation. Although he acted predominantly in Hindi, he was loved by every moviegoer irrespective of language. Many South actors poured their condolences and expressed their shock over his death.

Mega star Chiranjeevi, who was devastated to hear the news took to twitter to express his grief.

"Devastated to know Rishi Ji is no more. A great friend, a great artiste, heartthrob of millions. Carrier of a great legacy. Feel so heartbroken at this loss. Farewell my friend #RishiKapoor. Rest in peace," he tweeted.



Superstar Rajnikanth too was taken aback like any other Rishi Kapoor fan, friend or family member.

He tweeted saying, "Heartbroken ... Rest In Peace ... my dearest friend #RishiKapoor"



Rishi Kapoor was an actor loved and adored by people of all generations. Our young stars of South too seemed shattered to hear the news.

Mahesh Babu conveyed his condolences to Ranbir through his tweet. In his tweet, he spoke about how Rishi Kapoor's demise is a loss to the world of cinema. His tweet reads as, "Heartbreaking to hear about #RishiKapoor sir. Yet another irreplaceable loss in our world of cinema... A complete entertainer and an incredibly talented actor... A true legend. My deepest condolences and strength to Ranbir and his family. May his soul rest in peace. 🏻 🏻"



Ram Charan and Jr NTR too mentioned about their anguish on losing an actor like Rishi Kapoor who entertained the audience for decades. Both the actors said they were heartbroken on hearing this news.

While Ram Charan said, "Heartbreaking to know that #RishiKapoor Ji is no more. Another stalwart of Indian cinema leaves us on Thursday. My deepest condolences and strength to the Mr. Kapoor's family."

Jr NTR tweeted saying, "Heartbreaking!!! We lost the supremely talented Irrfan Khan sir yesterday. And now, the legendary Rishi Kapoor Saab! This is a devastating loss for Indian Cinema.





Shruthi Hassan, who shared the screen with Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in D Day, which released in 2013 voiced about mourning the loss of a giant in Indian Cinema.



Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. He was getting treated in the US. In fact, he had returned to India last September after seeing some signs of recovery.

Rishi Kapoor is known not just for his acting but also for his witty humour and brutally honest opinions.
