Special hospital to be established for coronavirus: Eatala Rajender
By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 March 2020 7:55 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender today said that a specialised hospital would be dedicated to treating only Coronavirus patients.
He, while speaking with media after a department meeting, said, āWe have already made several key decisions in terms of the department. The department has decided to establish a special hospital for corona treatment.ā
He said that nine different departments are working in close coordination, and one nodal officer is placed in each department.
The health minister said that Army Hospital in Hyderabad to have a 300-bed isolation facility., Apart from that Vikarabad Chest Hospital and Erragadda chest Hospital being considered for setting up of isolation wards.
He said, āEnough lung disease specialists and nurses have been appointed for treatment.ā
The private hospitals have also been alerted by the state health ministry. The minister has if any patient is suspected with Corona Virus in private hospitals; he has asked that they should be sent to the government hospital for further treatment.
The health department has requested for additional sanction of Rs 50 crores for isolation facilities and for arrangements to be made in order to contain Corona Outbreak.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has conveyed that, all efforts should be taken to contain the virus at any cost.
Yesterday a techie residing at Mahindra Hills was tested positive for coronavirus. He has been kept under isolation in Gandhi Hospital.
Apart from that, 80 people associated with him are also quarantined. He has travel history from Dubai, and prior to being admitted at Gandhi hospital, he was taking treatment for fever in Secunderabad Apollo Hospitals. Apollo Hospitals said that they had quarantined the staff who treated him.
