Words fail me at this moment: Mohammad Siraj after receiving `Thar

Hyderabad: Team India's new bowling sensation Mohammed Siraj received the promised Thar SUV from Industrialist Anand Mahindra on Sunday.

Siraj attained celebrity status after his stupendous bowling performance during Team India's tour Down Under.

Since Mohammed Shami was injured, Siraj was given the test cap. And he did not disappoint the selectors.

Despite his father's demise, Siraj had decided to stay back in Australia to fulfill his dad's wish. Siraj battled against all odds and came out triumphant.

Later, Industrialist Anand Mahindra promised to gift Thar to six players who rose to prominence in the series Down Under. They included Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar and Navdeep Saini.

After receiving the gift, Siraj took to Twitter to express his gratitude. "Words fail me at this moment. There is nothing I can say or do that will adequately express how I feel about your beautiful gift @Mahindra_Thar. For now, I'll just say a big fat thank you @anandmahindra sir," tweeted Siraj.

Fighting with depleted resources, several youngsters and newcomers stepped up to help India win series 2-1.

Mohammed Siraj picked five wickets on his Test debut at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Filling in for India's strike bowler Mohammed Shami and after the horror of 36 All Out in Adelaide, Siraj saw the back of Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green in the first innings before again getting Green along with Travis Head and Nathan Lyon in the second.

He then returned with a fifer in the second innings of the series decider at The Gabba including the wickets of Steven Smith and Labuschagne – Siraj bowled with heart, pace, and accuracy and was India's lead bowler in the absence of the quartet in Brisbane. He ended the series as the highest wicket-taker for India – a remarkable effort for a debutant against a full-strength Australian side in their own backyard.

Mohammed Siraj will be seen in the current Indian premier league season playing for Royal Challenger Bangalore.
