Stray dog beaten to death after injuring five people at Bholakpur

Hyderabad: A stray dog was beaten to death after it bit five persons including children at Bholakpur in Hyderabad on Wednesday night.

Locals said on Wednesday night, the dog started biting passersby at Indira Nagar. Panic-stricken people ran helter-skelter for safety. As many as five persons including two children were injured in the incident.

A few locals tried to scare away the dog but to no avail. Later a group of youngsters armed with canes and rods beat the canine to death.

The injured persons were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. All of them are said to be out of danger. The victims did not lodge any police complaint but informed the GHMC authorities about the incident.

It may be recalled that on August 27, a woman was killed and her son sustained injuries when they met with an accident after a pack of stray dogs chased their motorbike at Alwal.

The deceased was identified as K Chandramma. She was riding pillion on his son, K Philip’s motorcycle when it crashed. He suffered wounds in the crash.
