Superstar Rajnikant to act one last time before taking the political plunge

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth after completing 'Darbar' will play the lead role in Siruthai Siva’s directorial movie. Tentatively the title of the film is ‘Thalaivar 168.’ Sun Pictures will produce the movie. They tweeted, "the blockbuster hits Enthiran and Petta, the mega-hit combo of Superstar @rajinikanth and @sunpictures come together for the third time for Thalaivar168, Superstar’s next movie, directed by @directorsiva #Thalaivar168 By SunPictures (sic).”

However, the cast, crew and the final title of the film are yet to be decided. It is rumoured that music composer D. Imman has been roped in for the film.

Rajinikanth's ‘Darbar’ is almost done and will be out this Pongal. ‘Darbar’ is directed by A.R. Murugadoss and features Nayanthara as the heroine. The music score is by Anirudh. After 'Viswasam,' Siruthai Siva was supposed to direct ‘Suriya.’ However, 'Suriya' was delayed for reasons unknown.

Siva then met Rajinikanth and narrated a script, which appealed to the superstar as it was on the lines of 'Viswasam' and would be a family entertainer.

Sources said that in all probability ‘Thalaivar 168’ would be Rajinikanth's last venture on the big screen before he plunges full-fledged into politics.

Rajinikanth had recently announced that he would float his political party and fight the 2021 Assembly elections. In all probability, he is expected to launch his party in May 2020.
