Swimming coach molests 15-year-old swimmer, Rijiju sacks him via Twitter
By Anurag Mallick Published on 5 Sep 2019 10:44 AM GMTHyderabad: A swimming coach has allegedly molested a 15-year-old swimmer in West Bengal. Writer/director, Vinod Kapri took to Twitter to share a few images of the coach and the swimmer.
He wrote, āThis needs your immediate ATTENTION Sir @kirenrijiju. Swimming coach Surajit Ganguly is allegedly molesting 15-year-old swimmer. Just saw the disturbing video. Can't share here. (sic)"
The coach has been identified as Surajit Ganguly an ex-railway employee who at present, resides in Goa, Mapusa.
Union youth affairs and sports minister, Kiren Rijiju respond to Vinodās tweet and ordered for stringent action against the coach.
Mr Rijiju wrote, āStringent action will be taken through Sports Authority. Firstly, itās a heinous crime of serious nature so I'll urge the police to take stringent penal action against the coach urgently (sic).ā
In another tweet he went on to write, āIāve taken a strong view of the incident. The Goa Swimming Association has terminated the contract of coach Surajit Ganguly. Iām asking the Swimming Federation of India to ensure that this coach is not employed anywhere in India. This applies to all Federations and disciplines (sic),ā
