Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy and Kipman discussed integrating advanced technological solutions for persistent challenges in the Telangana core urban region
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced a major initiative with the aim of transforming Hyderabad into a truly liveable city by fully leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve pressing urban issues.
The Chief Minister made the remarks during a crucial meeting with Alex Kipman, the globally renowned technologist and CEO of Analog AI, known for his work in redefining human-computer interaction.
The discussions focused on integrating advanced technological solutions for persistent challenges in the Telangana Core Urban Region, including traffic congestion, urban flooding, protection of lakes, accurate weather prediction and monitoring industrial pollution.
Rise of ‘physical intelligence’
During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy and Alex Kipman agreed on a strategic collaboration to integrate real-time sensor networks for traffic, safety, environment, and utilities. This partnership is part of a larger plan to align ‘Physical Intelligence’ solutions with the State government’s core priorities.
Kipman explained the concept of ‘Physical Intelligence’, which acts as a bridge between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the physical world. He highlighted the potential for achieving city-scale innovation by utilising large-scale interconnected sensors, robots and drones.
The Chief Minister expressed his desire for tailor-made, cutting-edge tech solutions to develop the ambitious Bharat Future City as a global hub for technology, innovation, and sustainability.
Hyderabad as India’s first ‘Physical Intelligence City’
To kickstart this transformation, an eight-week pilot program in collaboration with Analog AI has been proposed. The pilot aims to:
- Transform Hyderabad's existing CCTV infrastructure into a real-time city intelligence network.
- Enhance traffic management, emergency coordination, and citizen safety through predictive insight and contextual understanding.
This pilot is designed to position Hyderabad as the first ‘Physical Intelligence City’ in India. By the program's conclusion, Hyderabad is expected to have a live operational prototype of Physical Intelligence running in the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC).
Emphasis on safety and lake protection
CM Revanth emphasised the government’s commitment to improving safety and liveability by making the best use of the thousands of cameras already installed across Hyderabad in partnership with Kipman.
The Chief Minister also placed special emphasis on the need for protecting the state’s lakes, highlighting the government’s work on the Musi Rejuvenation project.
“Hyderabad, often called the ‘City of Lakes,’ is known for its many lakes and distinct rock formations. Our government is looking to build innovative methods to protect lakes,” he stated, assuring full support for Analog AI’s study of the state’s landscape and potential opportunities.
Kipman expressed confidence in delivering smart solutions to enhance Telangana’s safety, sustainability and economic growth.
