Hyderabad: Telangana government is all set to establish a new Information Technology (IT) park near Gachibowli to reinforce Hyderabad tech prowess.

The park is planned to be developed close to the American Consulate, located approximately two kilometers from the Kanch Gachibowli lands. According to official sources, senior government officials had identified the location a few months ago, considering its proximity to key urban infrastructure and tech hubs.

Land Survey and Reports Submitted

Following directives from the Ranga Reddy District Collector, the Serilingampally Mandal Tahsildar submitted a detailed report in March, identifying suitable lands in and around Gopanpally Thanda. The report includes government, private, and restricted (prohibited) category lands.

The identified area spans 439.15 acres, covering survey numbers 127 to 173/2 and 263 to 286. The documentation includes clear boundary demarcations and geotagged imagery.

Strategic Location for Tech Growth

The proposed park is advantageously located equidistant from the Outer Ring Road (Gopanpally–Tellapur stretch), Wipro’s Gopanpally campus, and Tellapur. The land is also just a kilometer away from the Gopanpally flyover.

Land records in this region were first compiled nearly 20 years ago. However, with the recent surge in IT activity in Gopanpally, Gopanpally Thanda, and Vattinagulapally, combined with the establishment of the American Consulate, the strategic value of these parcels has increased dramatically.

Officials believe that setting up two IT parks in the Gachibowli–Gopanpally corridor could significantly enhance both IT and non-IT commercial activity in the region.

Rapidly Expanding IT Landscape

Over the last two years, areas such as Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Financial District, Vattinagulapally, Kokapet, and Puppalaguda have witnessed an unprecedented rise in IT establishments and gated communities.

The proposed Gopanpally IT Park is expected to attract numerous technology firms, further accelerating the economic development of the western corridor of Hyderabad.

Next Steps: Fresh Survey & Notification

Revenue officials have indicated that a fresh land survey will be undertaken to finalize boundaries and assess legal clearances. Once completed, the process of issuing an official notification for the IT park will commence.

Serilingampally Tahsildar K. Venkata Reddy confirmed that details, including those of prohibited lands (in compliance with High Court orders), have been submitted to the District Collector’s office. He added that the previously issued land notification was set aside by the court, prompting a fresh compilation of data for the new proposal.
