Incubation Centres planned in Warangal, Nalgonda on T-Hub model: Minister Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Saturday announced that the State Government will soon establish incubation centres in Warangal and Nalgonda, modelled on Hyderabad’s T-Hub, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the districts.
MoUs with Universities soon
The Minister said the Government would shortly sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Kakatiya University and Mahatma Gandhi University to operationalise these centres.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Kakatiya University Pharma Alumni Association at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds.
Sridhar Babu said the initiative forms part of the Government’s larger vision to make Telangana an “Innovation Hub” and a “Pharmacy of Purpose”, where science and humanism converge to deliver meaningful, socially beneficial innovation.
Focus on Life Sciences and Social Impact
“When science is infused with empathy, every innovation becomes a force for social good,” he remarked, highlighting the State’s efforts to build a 360-degree life sciences ecosystem that connects research with markets and policy with patients.
Within the past 18 months, Telangana has attracted Rs 54,000 crore in new investments in the life sciences sector, drawing global majors such as Eli Lilly to set up operations in the State.
The Minister said this reflects investor confidence in Telangana’s progressive policies and has created new employment opportunities for youth.
Appeal to NRIs and Innovators
Calling upon Non-Resident Indian professionals to act as “knowledge investors”, Sridhar Babu said their expertise could greatly contribute to India’s innovation landscape.
“Machines may diagnose diseases faster than doctors, but no technology can replace the compassion of the human heart,” he observed.
Addressing young innovators, he urged them to focus on the social impact of their inventions: “History remembers not the number of patents one holds, but the number of lives improved by one’s innovation.”
The event was attended by Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Prof. K. Pratap Reddy (Vice-Chancellor, Kakatiya University), Dr. B. Prabha Shankar, Ramprasad Reddy, Pradyumna, Dr. Tamara Vijay Kumar, Prof. Bhaskar R. Jasti, Rajeshwar Thota, Prof. J. Krishnaveni, and several distinguished alumni.
