In a high-level meeting, the minister assured Bahrainā€™s Ambassador to India, Abdul Rahman Al Gaoud, that the Telangana government is committed to sharing its expertise and best practices in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Bahraini delegation, comprising senior representatives from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, expressed keen interest in replicating Telanganaā€™s groundbreaking initiatives. They invited Sridhar Babu to visit Bahrain to further explore collaboration opportunities. Expressing his gratitude for the invitation, the minister reiterated Telanganaā€™s unwavering support in facilitating the establishment of cutting-edge skill development institutions in Bahrain.

Skills University for hands-on training

Elaborating on Telanganaā€™s pioneering Skills University, Sridhar Babu underscored its industry-driven approach, where corporations take the lead in shaping curricula and providing hands-on training to young professionals. He emphasised that the Stateā€™s vision is clear: education must seamlessly connect to employment.

Skills University serves as the crucial bridge between academia and industry, ensuring that youth receive the expertise they need to excel in the workforce.

Every year, over 200,000 engineering graduates and 100,000 general graduates complete their studies in Telangana. Skills University provides them with specialised, domain-focused training, equipping them with cutting-edge expertise to thrive in competitive industries.

Telangana has also forged strategic partnerships with the Singapore Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to introduce internationally benchmarked curricula and student exchange programs. The university currently offers training programs in 33 specialised sectors, ensuring holistic and industry-relevant skill development.

A global hub of innovation and excellence

Sridhar Babu emphasised Hyderabadā€™s status as a thriving epicentre of talent, research and advanced infrastructure.

He noted that Hyderabad is not just an emerging global city; it is a powerhouse of innovation. The city has built an ecosystem that nurtures both startups and established enterprises, creating unparalleled opportunities for growth and investment.

Hyderabad plays a pivotal role in global healthcare, manufacturing 40 per cent of the worldā€™s vaccines and contributing 33 per cent of Indiaā€™s generic pharmaceutical production. The state has positioned itself as a leader in aerospace and defence, fostering a dynamic ecosystem that includes cutting-edge research institutions and robust private sector participation.

To further strengthen its leadership in technology, Telangana is developing a 200-acre AI City, designed to place the state at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence and next-generation technologies.

Inviting investment opportunities

Minister Sridhar Babu extended a warm invitation to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, urging them to explore investment opportunities in Telanganaā€™s rapidly growing education, healthcare, and food processing sectors. He highlighted that Telangana is not just fostering industries but actively shaping the future of global business. With progressive policies, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a highly skilled talent pool, the state presents an ideal destination for strategic investments.

In a decisive step toward deeper collaboration, the minister assured the Bahraini delegation that he would facilitate a high-level virtual conference with the CEOs of T-Hub and T-Works, as well as the vice-chancellor of Skills University, to discuss actionable strategies for partnership.
