Telangana to become ‘Aero-Engine Capital of India’ by 2030: IT Minister Sridhar

Hyderabad: Telangana aerospace, defence exports hit ₹30,742 Cr in first nine months of FY 25

Hyderabad: Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Telangana will be the ‘Aero-Engine Capital of India’ by 2030.

He was speaking during the virtual inauguration of a new aerospace manufacturing facility. It solidifies the state’s position as a burgeoning global hub for the sector.

The inauguration focused on the aero engine rotative components manufacturing facility established at Adibatla. This is a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Safran Aircraft Engines. An investment of Rs 425 crore is a critical step to boost the aerospace sector.

The new facility will manufacture essential components for LEAP engines, which power popular aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing. Specifically, it will produce Bearing Housings and Low-Pressure Turbine Shafts. The venture is expected to create 500 new skilled jobs in the region.

"City of Propulsion, Precision, and Progress"

Speaking at the event, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the state's determination to lead in aerospace, defence, and space technologies. "Hyderabad is no longer just the City of Pearls — we are reshaping it as the city of propulsion, precision, and progress," he remarked.

The Minister also presented impressive growth figures for the sector:

Aerospace and defence exports from Telangana surged from ₹15,900 crore in the entire 2023–24 financial year to an astonishing ₹30,742 crore in just the first nine months of 2024–25.

"These figures reflect the rapid growth of Telangana’s aerospace sector and the trust it commands globally," he added.

An Invitation to Invest

The Minister extended a compelling invitation to global aerospace and defence firms, encouraging them to invest across the value chain, including engines, components, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), aircraft conversions, space technologies, drones, digital systems, and AI-driven manufacturing.

“If you wish to build the future of flight — build it in Telangana,” Sridhar Babu urged.
