Telangana COVID-19 death toll crosses 900 mark, 2,392 fresh COVID cases
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 Sep 2020 4:12 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,392 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 1,45,163 in the state.
Eleven new deaths are reported on September 7 taking the total tally to 906. The fatality rate in the state is 0.62 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.69 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 304 new cases while Rangareddy reported 191 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 157 new cases while Khammam reported 116 cases.
Around 2,346 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,12,587. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 77.5 per cent, which approximately equals the national average of 77.54 per cent.
The state currently has 31,670 active cases.
The government tested 60,923 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 18,27,905 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 49,234.
Of the total cases, 24,579 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,734 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,463 isolation beds, 4,671 oxygen beds, and 1,600 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
