Telangana COVID recovery crosses 2 lakh mark, 948 fresh COVID cases on Sunday

The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 89.96 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 88.2 per cent.
Telangana reported 948 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,23,059 in the state.
Four new deaths are reported on October 18 taking the total tally to 1,275. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 212 new cases while Rangareddy reported 98 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 65 new cases while Khammam reported 25 new cases.
The government tested 26,027 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 38,56,530 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,03,614. Still, 1,050 reports are awaited. 11,451 primary contacts are tested on Sunday while 3,123 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 21,098 active cases. Of the total active cases, 17,432 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
