Telangana crosses 25L mark COVID testing, 2,137 fresh cases on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 Sep 2020 4:21 AM GMTHyderabad: The government tested 31,095 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 25,19,315 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 67,858.
Telangana reported 1,302 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 1,72,608 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on September 20 taking the total tally to 1042. The fatality rate in the state is 0.60 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.60 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 266 new cases while Rangareddy reported 98 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 102 new cases while Siddipet reported 92 new cases.
Around 2,230 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,41,930. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 82.22 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 79.87 per cent.
The state currently has 29,636 active cases.
Of the total cases, 22,990 are under home isolation. Of those, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,812 vacant beds for COVID patients.
