Telangana Farmer Wins USD 4 Million (28 Crores INR) In Raffle In Dubai

A farmer who hails from Nizamabad district in Telangana state won USD 4 million in raffle in Dubai. Reportedly, Vilas Rikkala, who is presently in Hyderabad returned back home after failing to find job in Dubai. Mr Rikkala left Dubai one and half month ago at he couldn't find a job there. On August 3, he was informed that he is the of the Dh15 million ($4.08 million) Big Ticket raffle.
After working in Dubai as a driver, Rikkala was in search of jobs since last few months. He borrowed Rs 20,000 from his lo and bought raffle tickets.
A resident of Jakranpalli village in Nizamabad district, Mr Rikkala has two daughters. He has been buying raffle tickets in the UAE for two years, including the Dubai Shopping Festival raffle tickets while he worked in the UAE.
According to the media reports, Rikkala and his wife work in farms in Telangana state and their annual earnings from tilling rice fields amount to about Rs 300,000 (USD 4,306).
