Telangana state transport official caught taking bribe

Hyderabad: An administrative officer of Telangana transport commissioner was caught red-handed accepting a bribe on 2 February.

Sleuths from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught J. Narender accepting a bribe of Rs 36,000 from a complainant. The official had demanded the bribe from the complainant, Ch. Sandeep, to issue copies of design to manufacture a two-wheeler trailer and tractor. The bribe money was recovered from the posession of the accused official and a chemical test of his right hand turned positive.

This is not the first time Narender has been caught taking bribe. On January 4, 2016, he was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000. A case was also registered against him in a disproportionate assets case on March 3, 2016. The case is pending for trial in the ACB Special Court in Hyderabad.
