9.3L families benefited from Kalayana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak schemes in TS

9.3L families benefited from Kalayana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak schemes in TS

Hyderabad: Telangana BC welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar on Thursday informed the Assembly that 9,31,316 families or persons have benefited through Kalyana Lakhsmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes in the state so far.

Replying to a question raised by the members during the question hour, Mr. Kamalakar said keeping in view the financial problems faced by the poor people for the wedding of their daughters, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has increased the financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 and to Rs. 1,00,116 in the state, respectively. This is a 100 percent grant for Backward Classes (BCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Minorities.

So far, Rs. 7,722 crore was spent under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes, the minister said, adding that 4,35,365 BCs (Rs. 3,834.86 cr) , 1,11,876 STs (Rs. 877.82 cr), 1,88,212 SCs (Rs. 1,475.59 cr), and 1,95,863 Minorities (Rs. 1534.53 cr) benefited from the two schemes.
