By Newsmeter Network Published on 9 Dec 2020 6:10 AM GMTHyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the prestigious Central Vista project in New Delhi.
In a letter to the PM, the CM stated, "I join you with a sense of pride on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the grand project of Central Vista."
Stating that the Central Vista is long overdue, the CM said the existing government infrastructure in the national capital is inadequate and also associated with our colonial past.
The CM felt that the new Central Vista project would be a symbol of self-esteem, prestige, and national pride of a resurgent, confident, and strong India. The CM wished speedy completion of the prestigious and nationally important project.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and perform "Bhoomi Pujan" for the new Parliament building on December 10. Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court directed the Centre not to undertake any construction or demolition for the Central Vista Project after Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation stone.
The construction is part of the Central Vista project, an iconic three-km stretch in the heart of New Delhi that runs from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate.
The opposition has questioned the government's decision to start the Central Vista Project in the middle of the pandemic. Many environmental bodies are also questioning the demolition and new construction of the building.
Opposing the center on Farm Laws, Telangana Chief Minister has supported the central government on this new project. It is also noted that the Telangana government has also demolished the state's old secretariat building and constructing a new one. For constructing a new building of secretariat and new parliament both Telangana government and Central government provided the reason "showing signs of distress and over-use" of these buildings.
