City sees heavy rainfall on Tuesday, more expected

Rao Nagar, Kushaiguda, Balanagar, Safilguda receive up to 73.8 mm of rainfall in an hour in Hyderabad. Many other areas such as Tirumulgherry, Venkatapuram, Gachibowli, Quthbullapur received recorded 30-40 mm of rainfall. Due to the lockdown hours after 5 pm, commuters did not get stuck anywhere due to rains.

The Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts of Telangana for the next two days.

It also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana. The IMD inference on Tuesday reads, "The low-pressure area over northwest Jharkhand and neighbourhood moved away from Telangana. Mainly low-level strong westerlies prevail over Telangana."
