COVID 19: Telangana reports 657 fresh COVID cases, two new deaths on Wednesday

Two new deaths are reported on July 28, taking the total tally to 3,793. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 percent which is less than the national average of 1.3 percent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 77 new cases while Karimnagar reported 64 new cases. Warangal Urban reported 62 new cases while Khammam reported 59 new cases.
Around 578 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 6,29,986. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 97.96 percent, which is approximately higher than the national average of 97.37 percent.
The government tested 1,16,815 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 2,16,70,005 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 5,82,213. Still, 1,413 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 9,314 active cases. Of total positive cases, 79.8 percent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 20.2 percent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.3 percent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.03 percent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.69 percent. 44.31 percent of victims had no comorbidities.
