COVID tests dip in TS, state testing only 80K samples per day

The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.3 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 69 new cases, while Karimnagar reported 55 new cases. Warangal Urban reported 38 new cases and Nalgonda reported 31 new cases.
Around 591 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the total recoveries to 6,39,456. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 98.18 per cent, which is higher than the national average of 97.43 per cent.
Meanwhile, the state's testing rate has dropped in the last five days. Earlier, the state was testing more than 1.1 lakh samples per day. It has now dropped to 80,000-90,000. The government tested 89,675 citizens on Thursday.
So far, 2,31,69,688 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 6,22,506. Reports for 1,425 samples are awaited. The test positivity rate (TPR) in the state stands at 0.5 per cent. Telangana has tested 49.9 per cent primary contacts and 12.1 per cent secondary contacts.
There are only 21 government RT-PCR, CBNAAT, and TRUENAT centers in the state. Around 75 private centers, too, are operating. On Thursday, 83,072 tests were conducted at government centers and 6,603 at private centers.
Also, 79.9 per cent of patients were asymptomatic, while 20.1 percent were symptomatic.
