Hyderabad: Telangana reported 357 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 6,56,455 in the state.
One new death is reported on August 26, taking the total tally to 3,865. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 percent which is less than the national average of 1.3 percent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 96 new cases while Karimnagar reported 33 new cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 23 cases while Warangal Urban and Nalgonda reported 21 cases each.
Around 405 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 6,46,344. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 98.45 percent, which is approximately higher than the national average of 97.60 percent.
The government tested 81,193 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 2,42,66,647 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 6,51,978. Still, 1,787 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 6,246 active cases. Of total positive cases, 79.9 percent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 20.1 percent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.3 percent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.03 percent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.69 percent. 44.31 percent of victims had no comorbidities.
