COVID 19: Telangana reports 339 fresh COVID cases, two new deaths on Friday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 339 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 6,56,794 in the state.

Two new deaths are reported on August 27, taking the total tally to 3,867. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 percent which is less than the national average of 1.3 percent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 91 new cases while Karimnagar reported 31 new cases. Khammam reported 28 new cases while Medchal Malkajgiri reported 23 cases.

Around 417 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 6,46,761. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 98.47 percent, which is approximately higher than the national average of 97.54 percent.

The government tested 80,568 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 2,43,47,215 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 6,54,143. Still, 1,626 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 6,166 active cases. Of total positive cases, 79.8 percent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 20.2 percent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.3 percent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.03 percent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.69 percent. 44.31 percent of victims had no comorbidities.
