COVID19: Telangana again crosses 1,000 mark after 134 days, reports 1,078 new cases
The last time the state reported more than 1,000 cases were on November 19, 2020 when the state reported 1,058 cases.

The state reported six new deaths on April 2 taking the total death toll to 1,712. The fatality rate in the state is 0.55 percent which is less than the national average of 1.3 percent.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area on Friday reported 283 new cases. The neighbouring Rangareddy district reported 104 new cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 113 and Sangareddy 29 new cases.
Other districts of Telangana are also seeing a surge in cases. Nizamabad on Friday reported 75 new cases while Nirmal and Jagtiyal reported 40 cases each.
Around 331 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking total recoveries to 3,02,207 in the state. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 97.22 percent, which is approximately three percent higher than the national average of 93.3 percent. The state has 6,900 active cases currently in which 3,116 are under home isolation.
The government tested 59,705 citizens on Friday. So far 1,03,29,954 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,77,537. Reports of 2,139 samples are awaited. The state tested 49.5 percent primary contacts while 12.4 percent secondary contacts.
There are only 20 Government RT-PCR / CBNAAT / TRUENAT centers in the state. Around 60 private centers too are operational. On Friday, 51,049 tests were conducted at Government centers.
Also, out of total infection, 79.5 percent were asymptomatic while 20.5 percent are symptomatic.
Meanwhile, India has recorded a massive surge of 81,441 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's total caseload to 12,302,110. The death toll from the deadly infection stands at 163,428.
