COVID19: Telangana reports 218 new cases, GHMC records max cases
Around 248 citizens recovered from the infection and one person succumbed to Covid-19 on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 Oct 2021 2:55 PM GMTHyderabad: Telangana recorded 218 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday taking the state's overall tally to 6,66,971. One person succumbed to the virus taking the death toll to 3,924. The fatality rate in the state stands at 0.58% compared to the national average of 1.3%.
A total of 46,758 samples were tested in the state on Tuesday. So far, 2,65,89,959 samples have been tested. Samples tested per million population stand at 7,14,399 while 1,488 reports are awaited.
Around 248 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 6,47,594. The recovery rate, as per the government data, now stands at 98.75% , higher than the national average of 97.90%.
GHMC recorded the maximum number of positive cases (69) while two districts - Nirmal and Komarambheem Asifabad - recorded no cases.
The state currently has 4,390 active cases. Of the total positive cases,79.9% are asymptomatic.
According to the state health bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years make up 14.3 per cent of the total cases while women aged between 21 and 30 years make up 8.3% of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities remain at 55.69%.
