The chief secretary released a booklet at a meeting held at BRKR Bhavan here to mark the successful completion of one year of the launch of the portal. He recalled Chief Minister KCR's observation that Dharani was the major initiative after the formation of Telangana state.
Expressing satisfaction and happiness over the strides taken by Dharani portal in the last year, Mr. Kumar said the portal has witnessed 5.14 crore hits and over 10 lakh transactions.
Referring to the challenges and hurdles faced in the initial stages of the launch, the chief secretary felt that in spite of certain persons with vested interests trying hard to pull down the system, the ability to adapt itself to meet the ever-increasing requirements of the various stakeholders has been the hallmark of Dharani portal. Different transaction modules have also been added to redress various kinds of grievances, he added.
He observed that there has been an exponential growth in the land values in Telangana and thanks to Dharani, lands are safe. No changes are possible without biometric authentication, he said and added that Dharani was possible because the government took up the Land Records Updation Programme (LRUP) to update land records.
The chief secretary complimented the officials and staff for the tremendous work and noted that in a couple of months, the number of pending grievances will come down and Dharani will prove to be a harbinger of transformation.
