Hyderabad: The Telangana school education department on Monday issued orders instructing all private schools to collect only tuition fee on a monthly basis and refrain from increasing any kind of fees during the academic year 2021-22.
Last year during the pandemic, the government had prevented all private unaided recognized schools in the state from increasing any kind of fees during the academic year 2020-21. They had been asked to collect only the tuition fees on a monthly basis.
"The government, after careful examination of the matter and in the exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 21 of the Telangana Educational Institutions (Establishment, Recognition, Administration & Control of Schools under Private Managements) Rules 1993, hereby direct all private unaided recognized schools in the state, which are affiliated to the state board, CBSE, ICSE, and other international boards, that: Not to increase any kind of fees during the academic Year 2021-22 and charge only tuition fee on monthly basis till further orders," said Sandeep Kumar Sultania, the secretary, Telangana government, in the order
He added that non-compliance with the instructions will result in cancellation of the school's recognition, revoking the objection certificate needed for affiliation to other boards, and initiation of appropriate action against the school management under relevant Acts/Rules.
Last year, too, the government had issued a similar order but many schools had still increased the fees and added other fees to the tuition fee. Many parents had complained about the fee hike last year, though very few schools received the notice and are still charging fees as per their will.
