Election for TRS party president post on October 25
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday announced that the election to the party president post will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur here on October 25.

Rama Rao on Wednesday announced that the election to the party president post will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur here on October 25.
Talking to the media at TRS Bhavan, KTR said that the election to the coveted president post had been postponed during the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering the improvement in the situation, the TRS has decided to hold the election this year.
"As per the party bylaws, the party president's election should be held every two years. It has also been a tradition to organise the party plenary on April 27 every year marking the party's foundation day. However, both of them could not be held for the last three years due to Lok Sabha polls in 2019 and COVID-19 pandemic," said KTR.
He said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the election schedule will be announced on October 17 and added that on the same day, a combined Legislature meeting will be held in which MPs, MLAs, MLCs will take part. Prof. Srinivas Reddy will be the returning officer (RO). Nominations will be received from October 17 to 22. The scrutiny of nominations will be on October 23 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 24. KTR said the party president will be elected during the TRS general body meeting to be held on October 25.
On the same day, a party plenary will be held under the chairmanship of the newly elected party president. The party resolutions will be prepared by a committee under the chairmanship of former Assembly speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary for passing in the plenary session, KTR.
A massive public meeting called 'Telangana Vijaya Garjana' will be conducted in Warangal on November 15, he said and added that the meetings for preparing arrangements for the Garjana will be held in all Assembly constituencies across the state on October 27. Party activists from village to state level and the general public will participate in the meeting where the party will review its policies, political situation among other issues.
